Iran's Leader, Ebrahim Raisi, has been killed in a helicopter crash in an uneven area of north-western Iran, the nation's state media has said.


He was going with Unfamiliar Priest Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and a few others.


An enormous pursuit and salvage activity to attempt to find the airplane was sent off on Sunday - with Russia and Turkey among the nations aiding the work.


It was at first revealed that the helicopter conveying Mr Raisi and the unfamiliar priest had made a harsh arriving in hazy circumstances.


It descended in a far off area of north-western Iran returning from Azerbaijan where Mr Raisi had been meeting President Ilham Aliyev.


In front of state media affirming the demise vigils had occurred in the capital, Tehran, with pictures showing individuals stooping in supplication.


Mr Raisi, 63, was a firm stance pastor near Iran's Incomparable Chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and was considered by some to be an expected replacement to the 85-year-old.


His political race as president in 2021 united the control of moderates over all aspects of the Islamic Republic.


In a proclamation following his passing, the Iranian government said it would keep on working "without disturbance"
